Friday

She went from being an Amish lady to being Bella, a puppy.

If you have spent anytime with HG, you know she has the funniest personality.

She always keeps you on your toes.

Our day got wild really fast.

HG had jumped on all the beds in the house by 8:30.

She was little Miss energy this morning.

A normal morning would be milk and Mickey Mouse or Dora in our bed.

We tend to cuddle for an hour or so.

Not today.

She was in rare form.

Even began using the hubby as a trampoline.

By 1, we had enough.

NAP TIME.

Aww, peace and quite for my pounding head.

Late this afternoon, Derc and Jax are coming to play.

Busy weekend.

Mother's group.

Egg hunt.

Birthday party.

Happy Weekend.

Italian Chicken

It doesn't get much easier than Italian chicken.
Even easier than heading to the closest local drive thru.

You only need two ingredients.
Yes, that is right.
Chicken breasts (or what ever chicken parts you enjoy)
Bottle of your favorite Italian dressing.
We had Kraft since they do the two for one special a lot.
HG loves Kraft ranch.

I beat my chicken breast just a little, add the Italian dressing to cover and let marinate for an hour.
I'm addicted to lemon pepper so I topped with a little.
Odd, i know.
Next, bake at 350 for 45 minutes or until done.
Simple. Easy.
HG loves baked or grilled chicken so I try to keep it around.
Makes great sandwiches or a topper for a salad.
We paired it with baked potatoes and broccoli tonight.
The hubby can't get enough potatoes.

I forgot to take pictures of our dinner.
HG ate while I took a cool bath.
Yes, cool.
Wasn't planned but my head was pounding.

First Ranger Game

Yesterday was HG's first Ranger game.

She was in no mood to get ready to go.

When our friend Chris arrived, she was actually in her Dora night gown with nothing else on.

No panties.

No pull ups.

Nothing.

She proceeded to take her time allowing me to dress her.

C's flight had to turn around and return to the gate.

So scary.

Better safe than sorry.

He was hours late.

We bought 3 tickets on the 10 game pass.

The seats are in the bleachers.

I think we'll be purchasing a few evening game tickets under the cover.

Wow, it was hot and only April.

I doubt I'll be able to handle the heat come this summer.

If a baseball game wasn't enough, a friend was selling her Maverick tickets half price.

I was in no mood for another game.

I was worn out, sore and everything else under the sun.

I told the hubby to go with our friend Chris.

It was like Christmas for them both.

Rainy, cloudy Monday

water bottle lables for the shower.
HG's gift to baby Piper.
Fresh fruit for MDO.
I sent a piece of my heart to MDO with her. :)

It is just me and my sweet thing for the next couple of days.

The hubby is back in Louisville finalizing our kitchen.

HG woke this morning asking if daddy left her his Ipad or took it him.

Storms rolled through just before 4 this morning.

By 4, the hail was coming down.

All I could hear was dings.

HG slept through most of it but when the thunder really began, she got scared.

Mommy to the rescue.

Then the power went out.

House was silent for a long time.

I laid in bed stressing if the hubby set his cell phone or not.

Or if his flight was delayed.

But he managed to get up and make his flight.

In all the nasty weather.

The hubby said he had a rough flight.

Went right through the middle of the front.

Hail, wind, lighting, thunder, etc.

Really rough landing.

And a two year old on her first flight.

The mom, she didn't speak English.

Or Spanish.

So no one was able to communicate with her.

After a few threats of returning to the gate, she managed to control her toddler.

Who still yelled all the way to NC.

What a way to start a day!

My sweet friend Nicolle, sent me an email about this.

I am soooo glad she did.

We would have been one of the angry parents.

I'm so sorry that they went through something like this.

Why on earth are companies going to make products that stain for toddlers?

Don't they know they are messy enough on their own?

Goodness gracious!

Along with those, we are throwing out Elmo bath tablets.

They stain the fingers so bad.

And the tub if you don't rinse really well.

We had to break out of our apartment this afternoon.

The mess was growing larger.

The little one needed some sunshine.

Ran to the office to book HG's birthday.

Went to the Dollar store.

Where HG picked out the prettiest basket ever.

Much sarcasm in my voice.

Then a run through Chick Fil A for two kids meals.

And Lots of honey mustard.

We put together the basket from HG (us) to Piper.

And almost finished her diaper cake.

Both are terribly cute.

The diaper wreath is already in Texarkana waiting on the party.

While being so crafty, we decided to make water bottle labels.

A D O R A B L E.

Now, just seeing how I want to print them.

Italian Spaghetti

Spaghetti is a big hit around our house.

Sometimes I like to try a different recipe.

Or just throw stuff together for a different twist.

Here is what I did.

1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

1 bell pepper, chopped

1 onion, chopped

2 carrots, chopped

3 cloves fresh garlic

fresh mushrooms, sliced

1 small can tomato paste

2 cans of Italian stewed tomatoes

2 cans tomato sauce

1 pound extra lean ground beef

Italian seasonings

ground black pepper to taste

While browning the meat, I added all the ingredients to the slow cooker. Next, I let simmer for 2-3 hours. The longer the better.

We like to pair with a fresh green salad, a french loaf and extra virgin olive oil mixed with Italian spices and balsamic vinegar.

I'll be thrilled when I can find spaghetti squash to use instead of pasta for a healthier dish.

Poppy's surprise visit

Poppy surprised us with a visit on Saturday.

We kept it from HG until his arrival.

She was beyond excited.

A late lunch at Mi Cocina.

A basketball game.

Lots of sunshine.

It was a perfect day. I got my team Cohen shirt in the mail from Megan.

I love it!

Poppy got her a purse and bathing suit.

Of course both are hot pink.

Mail box run.

Enjoying the amazing weather.

Piccomolo Italian Ice Cream.
Yum!

Isn't a huge fan of grass in the toes.
Such a beautiful day.
HG and the hubby running on the grass.

We spend a lot of time in Southlake Town Square.

Love it.

After we climbed into bed, we watched two movies.

Or I slept through one.

The Town was not too bad.

If you can get over the f word.

Oh my, the f word.

Definitely not something to watch when your kids are awake.

I slept through The American.

The hubby said it was really strange.

Glad I did.

On the previous two movies we watched:

How do you know...

Slow.

We laughed at how slow it was.

Goodness, it was slow.

Eat Pray Love.

Much better.

Play dates and Rangers

HG is much too tall for this carseat.

She loves it.

Time to move back to her black one.

Jax seems to like her carseat.

She gets into the fridge a million times a day.

I keep water, milk and juice boxes for her easy reach.

I need to find a breakable pickle jar.

She is always carrying it around.

Jax loves to cheese at the camera.
For a tea party, you must have mini grilled cheese.

The boys learned about tea parties today. Resting for a minute.
Playing with HG's doll house.

I heard Derc say "did you tee tee in the bath".

I'm sure he asks that a lot to his 20 month old brother Jax.

Made me laugh.

HG assured him she didn't tee tee.

I was impressed with the mess

HG's room remained super clean.

Her room is always a diaster by the end of the day.

Always.

I need two kids around more often.

She was great, after warning her a time or two early on.

She is worn out.

I see an early bed time in the future.

We played outside, ate a lot and watched Toy Story 3.

From the movie-sitter as HG calls it.

Redbox to you.

I'm hoping to watch both tonight.

I rent movies often that I end up returning before I see them.

Netflix here I come.

The husband hooked up his PS3.

Can't wait for movies.

And Michael Jackson dance.

Oh pay back for the elephants above us.

It is Texas Ranger Season around here.

DFW has been hyped up for some time.

We bought the 10 game pass.

Even a ticket for HG.

Might decide bad idea after the game on Wednesday.

I think it is $1 hot dog night.

Wonder how many she and the hubby will manage.

To top it off, Derc plays on the Rangers too.

Little Rangers of course.

He looked so pround in his spiffy uniform.

We'll spend a lot of time cheering for the Rangers this season.

HAPPY WEEKEND!!!!!!!
