First week of school

We had a pretty decent week getting back into school mode.
I forgot a blanket or towel the first day.
You know for their 45 minute rest time.
I'm sure HG will nap every day.
HA.

Tuesday, we spent the morning at the doctor for Harper and the afternoon for HG.
Allergies.
All allergies.
Night time hacking cough, allergies.
I don't think allergies are causing my baby girl to run 101.6 today, miserable, not eating and lethargic.
Nope, not allergies anymore!
HG, sure it probably is.
Harper, might have been on Tuesday still.
Harper love is miserable.
At a birthday lunch for the husband's grandmother turning 92 today, Harper threw up all down me.
At the table.
Through layers of close.
I stripped down the panties and bra in parking lot.
Classy I know.

Speaking of birthdays, last night was spent with family in SS celebrating Uncle Ricky's60th.
It was SO much fun and everyone was so pleased to pull the surprise off.
HG could live next door to her cousins, she loves them dearly.

Wednesday, we also had to visit with the plastic surgeon for Harper's eye.
It isn't exploding or crusty all the time but the pedi was concerned with the way it was running on Tuesday.
Always something I tell you.
After the dr dilated her eyes, sure enough you could see the clog and slow flow duct.
Everything was neon under her skin. Freaky!

We're hoping we don't go back until late October.

The girls Christmas dresses also came in this week.
Adorable.
I went plain and monogrammed this year.
They turned out just great.
Maybe two years of wear too!

Oh, I must not forget........
We had to install a new air condition unit for upstairs outside.
Well, not us physically but financially.
Being grown ups can suck for that kind of stuff!

And speaking of air conditioners, I got to see the coils we replaced late July or so in our attic this week.
Hiding Santa gifts.
Wow, talk about A PAIN in my b

First Day of Pre K

Gasp, I can't believe it is here.
Tear.
So sad.
Big girl, so proud.
She was amazed that two girls in her class had the same name.
Oh that was just huge.

School mode

This girls and I took our time coming tonight today. We started out in a rush, trying to get back to take care of things and see about starting Harper on allergy medicine. Poor gal is flowing like a faucet and kind of pissy..........best way to put it.

We stopped for lunch at Bucee's in Madisonville, one of our favorite stops. We left with BBQ sandwiches, jerky, French fries, chocolate covered pretzels and wasabi covered peas. A made do picnic in the back of the Tahoe with the air blazing, we were stuffed. This is about where the trip took a turn. Harper cried at the top of her lungs for the next stretch of road. Finally, I pulled over to see if she would nurse. From here, we cut across to I35 in Hillsboro. I must say, the drive was pretty from Mexia to Hillsboro and just happens to drop you off at the Outlet Mall. Just so happens......

Here, we finished the Christmas shopping for all the little ones in the family. Well, just a thing or two left to pick up but mostly done. Nuts, crazy, OCD, I know but it was easy and the girls played. As The Holidays approach, our schedule becomes packed. Weddings, hunting, traveling, work. The husband loves to get gift cards but hates to give them. I honestly would rather give some $25-30 bucks to a place I know they like instead of me trying to pick out a top or something. If I know the person likes it or would like it then I will grab it. Otherwise, this year is most likely gifts cards.

Our day didn't stop there, we arrived to Keller and headed to Kroger. They had some great sales and I needed a glass of wine. At home of course but needed to buy some. I wound up with stuff (nothing processed!!) for 15 dinners, plus $9 sushi, $7 clearance 2009 wine, 6 deals of squeeze baby food, fruit and vegetables. I spent less than $150! I was proud, I'm sure I could have done better but I can spend $150 on 5 nights.

Laundry is going, girls are asleep, air is broken (yep, once again!!!), school starts tomorrow, my allergies started kicking tonight so must be something in the air and the strangest show is on tv. Strange I tell you! The husband comes home tomorrow and HG is making him a 'welcome home' basket after school.

GeeGee

Not sure where the name came from but all my life, I've called my grandmother GeeGee. She is just the sweetest thing in the entire world and I don't know many 90+ women who look as good as she. Many friends and family members have met her through the years and all have fallen in love. Oh goodness, everyone needs a GeeGee in their life.

She and Aunt Pam went to the trouble of preparing burgers with amazing baked beans, chips, toppings and brownies with pineapple ice cream. The punch was by far my favorite, I think I had six glasses. Oh how I just love pineapple! Both ladies are truly Angels and I am so Blessed to have people like them in my life.

I'm sure it will take her a few days to recover from all the little girls running around, grilling and the rain. My heart is so happy for hugging her neck today. I pray I will get to hug it agin on my next trip down.

Houston weekend

We're in Houston or I guess I should actually say we are down close to Houston. My brother, sister in law and niece live just south of The Woodlands. With Piper's first Birthday a few short days away, we headed down along with Poppy on this long weekend to celebrate. We have had a blast. HG has been so excited for weeks, maybe a little too excited. Those with 3-5 year olds probably understand exactly what I mean.

We have enjoyed visiting and playing with them and wish we lived closer. Maybe one day!

The girls have been troupers today. We are currently heading back to our hotel after traveling out to Port Neches. Headed back to DFW in the morning to get into school mode.
