Are we crazy?

Are we crazy that we are actually enjoying Indiana?
Sometimes it actually scared us that we are really enjoying it.
Yesterday reached 90 for the first time all summer in our town but the humidity is sky high.
I am enjoying the summer temps but this humidity can be rough.

While we are still working away on our lease home up here, getting into a school routine, managing all of the husband's traveling, we are still finding time for a little fun here and there.

Mia came out to visit for a week.
All three kids loved every single minute of it.
Harper and Hudson enjoyed all the reading she did, HG enjoyed the snuggles and having someone on her side.  Hudson laughed every time he would look at her, it was so cute.  Both girls were sad to see Mia leave and haven't fully understood that it is a long way to her house.  Thank you Mia for coming out to visit us, our first visitor to Indiana.   She is going to have an incredibly busy schedule the next two years so we treasured this time with her out here.

The kids and I are gearing up for our next visitors over Labor Day while the husband plays.

Mia reading to the babies
They love it when she reads to them.
Lots of gymnastics for this gal.

Big boy loves the bath alone.
Southwestern egg white omelet at the Original Pancake House.
Froyo after school treat before HG's gymnastics.

Baby boy wanted some.

And he is opening drawers.....and everything else!
Hudson climbed in this kitchen more than once and pulled the entire kitchen over on him more than once.
Needless to say, that kitchen it no longer with us.
Some little kid will be thrilled for a play kitchen.
Precious little girl.
Quite the afternoon snack.
HG has begged for her name above her in a wall decal since we were decorating for Harper's nursery. I always said her prints and canvases were so much nicer but she still asked for one.  I let her order any one she wanted and it turned out cute. Way to go Hailey Grace!
She and I were on a mission one day looking for rain jackets.
We have been soaked lately and even with umbrellas, we were soaked.
Six stores later, we still didn't have one.
Mission accomplished now thanks to Costco and Target, two of our favorite stores.
Now only if we can find shoes for big, skinny feet!
He is such a hoot and loves that he is almost as big as Harper.
She typically lets him climb and drool on him.

I am sure you have always wondered what would happen to ivory soap in the microwave.
I mean isn't this something we all wonder?
Thanks to Pinterest, we now know.
I will admit that we were all glued to the microwave and played with the result.
Big boy sporting a new outfit Grandmommy sent back with Daddy.

Saturday, we were crazy and adventurous.
We took the kids to a mall, on a Saturday.
Both of those things rarely happen.
Sure we do stuff on Saturdays and sure we shop but rarely to an indoor mall.
HG was beside herself with excitement.
She got a second trip back later Saturday night and was able to buy some jewelry.
Special day for sure.
Besides the mall, we made our rounds at various shopping places.
We left the house at 11 in the morning and returned home at 8:30.
Around 2, we thought we were close to a melt down but we were pleasantly surprised that everyone pulled through.
By 8:30, they were done.
We were done.
I think allowing them to play on the play area some helped.

He kept watching Harper eat from the squeeze pouches in the car last week and screaming for one.
It took him a minute but he mastered them.  Go Hudddy!
I love that I can hand him one in his chair while cooking dinner and he can still nibble on finger food or what we are having.
These things are so gross, terribly gross.
I wiped it down and then sprayed Lysol.
Harper needed some extra help and I forgot my carrier at home on Saturday.
Macy's had a balloon lady, the girls went crazy over them.
Then HG picked out some lovely shoes.
Trying out curtains.
I love love love these but they just didn't work with the color of the wall.

These are the husband's vote and I love the pattern.
I wish they weren't sheer.
We're still looking, these might end up in the dinning room.
He loves giving her kisses and rolling with her.
She is incredibly strong for her size so we have to watch them closely.

Chris gave Harper a bite of something and Hudson needed one too.
The bear crawling has begun.
We are baby proofing everything again.
Can he always be this size and precious please?
My girl and her owl sleep mask .
Sunday the two youngest and I headed out to return and look for shoes for big skinny feet.
We waited 30 minutes in line at TJ Maxx.
Thirty minutes.
They said I could come back on a Monday or Tuesday and only have to wait 15 or less.
What?
They are that busy up here.
Boots and bows for this gal lately.
Can you guess how many times she fell off?
We will be investing in an helmet just her size.
This gal had a big day yesterday morning.
She slept from 11 until 4 yesterday so naturally was up until 10:30.
She just crashed jumping off her bed so hoping that means she is back to normal today.
All evening she was falling, even when sitting up.
Heading to school looking adorable.
She loves school and her new friends.
Can't we just start at 10 in the morning mom?

School bus

The husband and I have always been on the same page on this subject, we agrees that our kids wouldn't ride the bus. We never gave it a second thought, we just always knew that I would take the kids to school and pick them up.  This was always something very important to us. We also never imagined living in Indiana, land of the corn fields. :)

So as we adjust to life here in Indiana, we also have to adjust other areas in our life. This is a hard adjustment for us as well being anti bus riding. Riding the bus here in Indiana is part of the school day. All the kids do it at her elementary. We live in a very nice neighborhood and the parents were shocked when I said HG was a car rider. The school tells you to put your kids on the bus. HG begged to ride the bus since she was the odd ball out and late each day. She had to walk to her classroom alone, all the other kids and teacher were already in the classroom.
So Monday we tried it out......

Harper was beyond excited to see her sister.

The second day.

Then the third day, we MISSED the bus. We forgot it moved 4 minutes earlier. Whoops!

Weekend Wrap up

HG had her first week of gymnastics.
This is something she is new to so is in a beginner class for 3-6 year olds.
The majority are 3-4 and she stands much taller at 6.
Hoping she will catch up soon or decide gymnastics isn't her calling.
Harper goofs off during her events but will be checking out a new playroom next week.
Slowly but surely, our house is coming along.
Mia (my mom) is out here helping right now so hopefully we can tackle a lot this week.

He is thinking this isn't Texas and this isn't real Mexican food.
Then I assured him we would share our food so he was happy.
This girl had quiet a scare on Thursday.
We had to go back in for her UTI and ears that were hurting.  Her ears checked out perfect.  While at the dr, she couldn't keep her balance. She fell 10 times in less than 10 minutes so they brought another doctor in and two nurses. Harper falls all the time, all the time. We are used to it and it really only gets our attention when it is a constant thing and includes hitting her head.  Our friends and family think of Harper as clumsy, not that there might be anything wrong.  As the day goes on, she naturally gets tired and falls more like most toddlers. But, it was a major alarm for the doctors who wanted us to go straight to the ER. I explained that Harper falls like that all the time and the ER wasn't somewhere we really wanted to go.  So we all agreed to seeing a neurologist but they wanted us in on an emergency basis which happened to be Friday morning. Whew, that was fast and almost enough to scare us. The husband came back in town on Thursday night and joined us for the Neuro appointment.  The dr could notice what the others were concerned about but Harper had been awake 90 minutes at her appointment so her body was still very rested. He had her do a few things, walk, run, jump, etc. She definitely charmed him as she does most people. Since there was a slight imbalance in her walking, running, turning and getting up.  These are all things that very well could just be delayed a bit and will develop as she gets older.  Of course, he wanted to be sure so she will be having testing fairly soon to double check everything.  We really aren't that worried, the balance issue isn't horrible but it is better to be safe than sorry in all of our opinions.

Sweet thing stuffs all kinds of things in her night shirt.
After the doctor at lunch with a massive fish tank.
The food wasn't good, each table had a tv for sports which was neat for sporting games.
Shark week
He isn't a fan of grass.
She loves her lace and ruffles.
And shoes with bows.
We have big dove all over our yard.
See that fence?
The whole reason we got this house.
Yeah, Camo can jump it.
Sporting his new sports coat for the winter and Mass.
In a size 2.
We have played a lot at home this weekend.
Mia is here for a week.
School is tiring during the week.
Pretty as a Princess.
Precious little one.
Lots of humming birds around our house.
Breakfast time at our house.
This morning was cereal and fruit.
HG opted for a hidden punchable when I walked out of the room.
Gross
This little boy has his sleep cycle off.
He has been getting up 6+ times a night.
Very little napping.
I'm beyond worn out.
He is too.
All 3 in a tub.

Braved lunch at Red Robin today.
The tables are horrible there.
Horrible.
Service wasn't great either.
Food was good though, Harper even ate the fries.

Chris' frist location is coming right along.
Looking good.
There is even a meat room in there where all the meat will be freshly cut.

Oh this cutie.
We play outside often, the weather is so nice up here.
There hasn't been a 90 degree day this summer.
