The husband's birthday

We've had a few busy days around here so not only am I trying to recoop, the husband and kids are as well. The husband begins traveling again this week interviewing and squaring away building plans.  Lots of blog about and working on that slowly but surely. Last night greeted me with 1 hour of sleep and it wasn't straight. All three kids were up along with the dog who was up twice. But back to the post.....

The husband's birthday was Sunday and while we wanted to get out and celebrate, we knew that wasn't possible. Nor could we invite a house full with the two long days before and me only being 3 weeks out from a C section. But with a 5 and 2 year old, celebrating is a must.  We ended up asking the husband's parents to come over early evening to hang out. A nice surprise was his youngest brother being in town the same weekend.  So even though it was low key, we of course celebrated with more food than we could possibly eat.   Chris went back and forth for days on what he wanted to eat. From smoking meat on his new smoker to a taco bar or Freebirds, it was well after bedtime on Saturday before he decided. Luckily for us, the husbands parents picked up his requested fajita bar on their way out here.  This was a ton of food, we were surprised and thankful for their generosity. Hailey Grace is in bean burrito heaven, girl would eat them daily and I plan on making then freezing a few.

The girls helped dip the strawberries
Wine and beer was served along with juice. :)
Sugar and Frosting cupcakes. The lemon was amazing, the Samoa one was incredibly dry.
Dipped pretzels and of course the husband's mom  brought her famous cookie cake.  I believe this is about half gone. Seriously delicious.
The girls love Uncle Mark, we are already sad about moving and not seeing him as much.
Sweet baby love. Hudson was 9 pounds even on his due date, exactly what the doctors guesses he would be if I was able to carry to the due date.
Our house and neighborhood will smell so good this Spring. We hope to test it out this Friday or Saturday if the weather is good and share at a 1st birthday party on Sunday then with Poppy and Danielle Sunday afternoon.  We love smoked meat. The husband racked up for his birthday this year.
The girls also gifted him fun things over the weekend. For Valentine's Day, HG chose a big bag of Reese's peanut butter cups and Harper picked 50 French vanilla coffee k cups. :) Both random but totally Chris' style. For his birthday, HG picked a gift card to Freebirds so they can have a date night and Harper gifted him a water flosser, power toothbrush, etc all in one.  He has been wanting this for a while and Harper loves to brush her teeth.  We are super thankful for Amazon prime, I have no idea what we would do without their membership the last year or so.

  1. Happy Birthday to Chris! All of your sweet treats, and the wine look amazing. Is it bad that I want a glass of wine right this minute, at 2:08 pm?!
